When creating PDFs, avoid using "Print to PDF." A screen reader user may still be able to access the text of PDFs created this way, but heading structure, alternative text, and any other tag structure will be lost. Using "Save As" or "Export" can preserve these tags.

“Ignoring COVID” means ignoring equity. Unless governments actually acknowledge that they still need to do much more to mitigate the harms of COVID, millions of people who are higher risk or have Long COVID will never be able to “ignore COVID.” That’s a travesty.

All of my posts made at the exact same time with the exact same content are getting dramatically more engagement on Blue Sky. The post on the left is from here while the post on the right is from Twitter.

One of — if not THE — first targets of the Nazis was Magnus Hirschfeld’s Institute for the Science of Sexuality, which had years of research about queer and trans experience. They burned it all and set the world’s thinking back a hundred years.
You cannot claim to oppose fascism *and* defend the purveyors of anti-trans misinformation.

Scapegoating is a key component of fascism, and the "reasonable, just asking questions" "moderates" are vital to the fascist infrastructure.

When I was a child, I believed and yearned and hoped for *someone* made for me. As I grew up, this transformed into an equally strong incessant yearning to discover someone who *I* was made for. Now? Now I look back and lament at a world that did nothing to teach how to want me to be made for *me*.

ttrpgs are not literature

the parameters for what makes a good character in a book or movie do not apply to ttrpgs (or vice versa)

ttrpg is an experiential medium, not a literary one

stop trying to melt down all art into a single pot of bland, gray uniformity
If a character hasn’t changed from the beginning of their adventure—whether book or movie or ttrpg—they haven’t been on a journey. They haven’t been on an epic adventure. They haven’t even been a hero. They’ve been on an extended shopping episode with a five-fingered discount.

The vast majority of people that uphold whiteness as a society are not white supremacists. They often don’t even actively think whites are superior.

It’s the people who are comfortable in the status quo and in the face of change, choose whiteness over uncertainty/solidarity.

I also try to avoid triggering PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) by doing things when and as I want to as much as possible. Wake up and don’t want to do anything other than play Horizon? Okay, then I’m playing Horizon and maybe I’ll feel better about doing something from my to-do list after lunch.

I do recall this from a year or two ago... (the CBC / Canadian Broadcasting Corporation seemed the most explicit at the time, the entity itself simply doesn't enter the frame)

Hi there. It’s me again. Your angry Palestinian friend reminding you that the UN stated that 100 trucks of aid need to enter Gaza daily to make a difference. How many have made it in, I wonder?

Oh yeah, 84. Since October 7th.
