Here to chat clean energy, local news, and basketball, and cheer for underachieving Minnesota sports teams.

I work for a renewable energy co-op (Cooperative Energy Futures) and co-founded a local news org (@minneapolisvoices.bsky.social).
This was the big thing missing early in the season for the Wolves. Big deal if they can do this consistently. Oh, and Jaylen Clark pretty rapidly became my favorite watch on the team.

Some interesting early results here – a bunch of small, rural districts in Minnesota are voting to raise their taxes to increase funding for local public schools.

Voter number 67, 68, and 69 at Ella Baker in precinct 10-1. Get out and vote, Minneapolis! And don’t forget to thank your local election judge.

More people should know that Diego Pavia is at Vanderbilt because Jerry Kill went to a random Hooters, saw him on TV, brought him to New Mexico State, then brought him to Vandy.

This is one of the smarter political ads I’ve seen in a while.

If you are looking for some good news, here you go. I was able to fish the Klamath a few years before the dam removal. It felt like such a special place then, I can’t wait to get back up there.

Also my friend Carl caught this enormous fish there which I am sharing because look at that thing.

9 homicides in St. Paul all year. Incredibly impressive.

Also, this bit about Denver really caught my eye, because...

Someone on Reddit made a list of Twin Cities restaurants from most countries, sorted by flag. I am bookmarking the hell out of it and so should you. www.reddit.com/r/TwinCities...

Finally checked out the Alebrijes on Raspberry Island in St. Paul this weekend. So so cool. Go check them out before they leave in October if you haven’t yet.

This relatively cheap EV truck is fascinating for a bunch of reasons, one being this super simple dashboard looks better than 99% of cars on the market today.

Glad to see this, but a bit surprised, as I was really sure there were more fireworks this year than I ever remember. www.reddit.com/r/Minneapoli...

Four and a half month’s ago, Zohran was at 1%. Today, he won the primary. The Minneapolis Mayoral election is in about four and a half months.
