In really no surprise to anyone, the latest research from the respected Pew Institute directly contradicts Google claims that AI Overviews have increased search usage
Google users are less likely to click on links when an AI summary appears in the results
In a March 2025 analysis, Google users who encountered an AI summary were less likely to click on links to other websites than users who did not see one.

Every so often you come across those WTF moments where agencies do the really bare minimum

Today was the agency who didn't install the tracking tags for the Adwords campaign, but instead gets the client to send an Excel sheet with the times & dates of the enquiries to cross match

A great thread that nicely sums up how LLMs can help increase your skills and knowledge
If you're a practitioner—consultant, freelance, agency, or in-house—the phrase "system builder" might interest you (thanks to Kevin Indig for the term I'd been seeking for ages)

The idea is that LLMs enable practitioners to be effective beyond their original (and perhaps limited) skill sets

Using Enhanced Measurement in GA4 to track calls on phone numbers and email addresses. Google quietly removed that functionality in November

You still can and should be creating custom events for things like this

To check how many searches Google Search Console is not showing to you, take the figure you're first shown and then apply this filter

Divide the second figure by the first to find out what % of queries are anonymised

Amazon internal search is pretty good apart from when it comes to looking up orders

It can't seem to cope with the actual order number which isn't much good when you're trying to reconcile a credit card number
