Social media this morning is a zombie apocalypse of dinosaur Tory politicians and right wing hangers-on hankering after the nasty Brexit wars of the last decade. Our country has moved on!

The results up and down the country show that the Tories have had a very bad night, with Reform taking votes and seats, but we must face the reality that Labour lost seats as well.

Our Labour vote split to the right, to Lib Dems, independents & to the Greens and disillusionment saw many stay home.

Oh ye gods. Asylum seekers won't get social housing because s.160ZA (England) and s160A (Wales), Housing Act 1996 prevents that from happening.

The Telegraph's new chinless wonder, Guy Dampier, continues to make shit up. He is either thick or lying. Asylum seekers cannot get social housing in England and Wales (probably not in Scotland, but I don't know enough to say for certain). Housing Act 1996 section 160ZA (England) prevents it.

Funny how Farage - and indeed most of the Brexiteers - don’t want to talk about Brexit any more

Have written about Starmer's speech- his best moment yet as PM. He implicitly identified what sits at the heart of this story: the emergence of a common UK/US online right, headed by the radicalised Musk.

It is making extremist, until recently fringe politics mainstream in British conservatism.
