There is no "fix" for cutting 25% of the funding for R1 universities. The "fix" means firing tens of 1000s of employees & dismantling 100s of programs. Pretending otherwise, & quietly pursuing lawsuits & treating this an institutional-level problem, instead of a sectoral crisis, is a category error.
