Another thing that frustrates me is genre devs pulling the "my game's built different" card to avoid playing. It always comes off halfassed.Ok so u wanna make something unique but dont wanna leave the comfort of existing genres? Take the creative shortcut & existing audience but not their standards
Normalize the idea that genre devs should play the games in the genres they're making to at least a somewhat competent level
