It's been more than a year since my only COVID infection. (Work pulled a surprise saliva drug test, so I didn't have my portable HEPA filter.) I can STILL feel that I am mentally less capable than I was before. I do puzzle games for fun, so I'm constantly training my brain. Wonder if it helps.

I have been listening to it for years, but the English announcement on the train about priority seating still sounds like, "There are five seats in each car," to me.

Y'all, I am simply begging you to start masking up again. We will have no information on the pandemic currently underway AND no information when/if H5N1 makes the jump.

Don't wait for someone from the government to tell you to start protecting yourself because it will be way too late if they do.
With Trump's withdrawal from the U.N. World Health Organization, the U.S. will likely fall behind on public health innovation and disease prevention, putting the country and the world at greater risk to the next pandemic.

All people need the legal right to protect themselves from Covid and other viruses, wildfire smoke, pollen etc.

It shouldn’t be limited to “only” high risk individuals.

How well do you think this is going to work out...

Because so many young people are currently chronically ill, the UK Army had been having problems recruiting healthy people...
So they have lowered the health requirements.

If you have had Covid and it has harmed you long term, and you want to avoid catching Covid again because the medical evidence is that further infections may harm you further... that's not Health Anxiety, that's Health Common Sense.

It would be nice if we could get past this notion that infections are harmless if you "recover" from them.

Every year that passes brings a new flood of discoveries that conditions we previously thought were unrelated to infection are made more likely by, or outright triggered by, past infections.
A new study published in Nature Aging adds to growing evidence that severe infections, including flu, herpes and respiratory tract infections, are linked to accelerated brain atrophy and increased risk of dementia years later.

Just because a bunch of professors at Stanford say COVID’s no big deal doesn’t make it true. You know this. You know someone who’s died from covid. You know someone with long covid. You’ve probably had covid several times yourself. They are spreading misinformation because it fits their ideology.

@frankomatic.bsky.social to me: I saw this game on your wishlist, and it wasn't too expensive, so I bought it.

He bought it (UFO 50) for himself and has been playing it while I watched a movie. At least the Steam Family thing means I can try it later.

I bet most doctors have no idea about the real scale of Long Covid, because many patients have given up on healthcare—because patients know there are no treatments available, know that their illness is likely to be misdiagnosed as psychosomatic, and know that you risk reinfection and getting sicker

I’m heartbroken and enraged at the loss of @tinu.bsky.social She spoke at great length of her battle with cancer and Long Covid - and how much harder it was to get treatment, recognition and proper care for LC versus cancer.

She also never stopped fighting for masks in healthcare. 🧵/1
