“It’s clear he didn’t run this grotesque idea past any women in real life.”

It is deeply offensive to blame or penalise women for not having children, it’s even more painful for those like me who have suffered the pain of miscarriage after miscarriage.

One of my friends found a Rachel Reeves fan account on TikTok and asked if I had created it. Sadly, no.

Thangham Debbonaire would have made an absolutely formidable SoS for Culture, Media and Sport. It is such a shame she lost her seat in 2024.

It has indeed been a torrid week; it is a waste of time to argue to the contrary, but I am not sure we would have got where we are, where Mandelson's skills as a manipulator were favoured over principle, had it not been for the media and their constant platforming of him as a mastermind. Yet...

I have been in two minds for the past couple of months as to whether Keir Starmer should stay or go, but nothing makes me more determined to ensure and defend the former than the prospect of Elon Musk getting his own way. Musk wants Starmer to leave, something backbenchers should keep in mind.

Disgusting remarks, and that’s before you note this is someone who moved to (colonised as he would put it) a tax haven news.sky.com/story/the-uk...
'UK has been colonised by immigrants', says INEOS boss and Man Utd co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe
In an interview with Sky News's Ed Conway, Sir Jim says Britain faces profound political, social and economic challenges, among them an unprecedented rise in immigration in recent years.

Incredible to think that chessgate got more scrutiny than Farage breaching the MP code of conduct seventeen times.

Hard to believe that none of the Reform MPs turned up for the debate on Russian interference in our politics. Maybe they were visiting their former Kremlin talking points Welsh leader Nathan Gill in prison? Or en route to their next BBC interview to act as commentators on why Starmer should go?

By all accounts, I agree that not all the woes should be laid at the media's door, but the journalists' lack of self-awareness is staggering. I really do not believe the media is in a position to throw stones from their gigantic glass houses. A period of self-reflection would do them good.
Some of Starmer's woes were avoidable, but the media do love making a scandal out of scraps. I'm old enough to remember when they hounded Rachel Reeves for over a week for "lying about the public finances", and when they were proved wrong, tried to get her over a chess championship.

I am tired of factionalists deluding themselves that this mess is all the fault of the media. Still, I am equally tired of the media class refusing to address their own complicity or the fact that they exacerbate any sense of turmoil because chaos brings them greater financial rewards.

Today we published our Local Power Plan putting £1bn into community energy.

This is the biggest investment in community energy in history, putting communities at the heart of everything this government does. (1/3)

Keir Starmer has apologised for his grave error of judgment and rightly so. The decision was morally wrong and a c*ck up of epic proportions but I have yet to hear an apology from the journalists who wrote op-eds at the time of Mandelson's appointment, calling it "genius". Where are their apologies?

The leadership election to replace Keir Starmer is going to be absolutely brutal isn't it?
February 10, 2026 at 9:23 AM
Two things are true in this instance:
1. Keir Starmer made a huge error of judgement over Mandelson, which was entirely avoidable.
2. The media is determined to destabilise the Government because stability isn't profitable, and many of them are far too full of their own self importance.
