Brilliant article by a teacher highlighting the current dire situation for teachers and kids every winter when it comes to infection risk and spread. We continue to fight for our kids to have the right to breathe clean air.

This worked! There didn’t seem to be a limit; we booked last night, turned up at the right time and they just scanned a barcode to get the promo price. 🙌
If you're not entitled to a free flu shot, you can get one privately from Asda for 60p(!!) as part of a promotional offer if you book online and can go before September ends. Here's the link:

Am I the only one to see a contradiction between a NHS overwhelmed with respiratory infections and JCVI’s decision (based on their “bespoke” economic evaluation) to recommend very limited eligibility for COVID vaccines? #FalseEconomy

Just saw an NHS ad on Channel 4 telling people to get 'winter ready' with flu and covid vaccines. That's great. Except that most people are still not eligible for free ones! And not many people can afford £99 at Boots in our part-privatised NHS *scream* #covid

I completely echo this brilliant piece from @profdevisridhar.bsky.social on how we must use the most recent research and consider the wider costs of not factoring Long Covid risks into costing decisions re vaccine eligibility. Vaccines reduce risk of long covid- we can’t ignore this.🧪

Unlike the US, Canada and Australia, the UK is only giving free boosters to some. But the cost of restricting them could be huge, says Devi Sridhar of Edinburgh University

Heard this on the news this morning - make it make sense… It’s not cost-effective, apparently, for COVID vaccinations to be available for all in the UK to keep us healthy, but suddenly weight loss jabs can be rolled out?? 🤦‍♀️
So, weight-loss injections could benefit the economy, reducing the number of sick days caused by obesity? 🤦Illness due to #SARSCoV2 infection also causes many people to take time off work, many others being forced out of work long-term due to #LongCOVID.
