Obama: As for the president, he has been focused on critical issues like paving over the rose garden so folks don't get mud on their shoes and gold plating the Oval Office and building a ballroom… If you can't visit a doctor, don't worry. He will save you a dance.

This is what it looks like when you are an absolute failure of a parent.
Evidently there was an Auschwitz-themed float in a Halloween parade in Pennsylvania.

The float was for a Catholic school, and to their credit the church immediately disavowed it.

Thing is, I don’t think high school kids did this entirely on their own. I’m guessing parents had to be involved.

I’m going to go plaster my photos from No Kings on Facebook. I think it’s important that people who know me have to confront my first hand witness against the lies they hear on Fox News.

I went to the No Kings march in San Jose. Here are some quick observations:

* 65% of the signs were about democracy, the bill of rights, against dictators.
* 15% of signs were about ICE.
* 20% were about every issue that popped into someone’s head.

A lot of people don’t care if something is actually true or not as long as it feels good to say. Or worse still, come to believe something is true, simply because it feels good to say. I really wish people would resist this instinct. Commitment to truth is vital and without it we have nothing.

Fall is coming to NM and that means… tarantulas! They come out seeking mates.

They’re very gentle and vulnerable, so we move them off the road to a safe haven.
