Sunday night dinner will be a piece of chicken fried steak short tonight due to a sneaky spaniel. He is unrepentant and says we always forget to get him a plate of food at dinner so he took matters into his own paws.

Cat-sitting was fun last weekend and the beginning of this week but I'm glad to be back to my normal routine. The young cats have now decided they don't have to be well-behaved around me, but they're so cute that I don't care.

Took Spencer for a mile walk today since it rained& was cool. On the way back he insisted on cutting down the street in front of our house & going in the front instead of going on the sidewalk behind our house & going in the back like usual. He was just so tired. Got in& he promptly got the zoomies.

in the laundry room. First time I was sure I must have not pulled the door totally closed. Second time I was pretty sure I had. Today I made sure it was securely closed before I left, but he was still in the laundry room when I got back. Why must I be cursed with smart dogs? At least he's cute.

Book 27- The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. Loved this retelling of The Trojan War through Achilles eyes. Despite hearing so many good things about this, I didn't imagine I'd enjoy it this much. Definitely need to read Circe soon.

Book 24- This Poison Heart by Kalynn Bayron. Paranormal YA mystery. I enjoyed this one enough to start the next book right away rather than what I'd plan to read. Interesting take on mythology.
