It's funny when writers are like, "It was important to show that men can be close without being gay." I know the idea is providing a safe space for straight guys to be close. But I'm not sure I buy that you can do that separate from breaking down the need to not be gay. I'm just not convinced

People who see a problem with this are just being nitpicky. Everywhere, the act of consuming books is referred to as "reading" no matter what the act itself looks like. Why do we care if people say "reading" instead of "listening"?

This obsession with making everything "realistic" in media (mainly video games and live-action movies) is one of the big reasons everything mainstream feels so boring now
