I just discovered that in 1986, dc published a slice of life, nonsuperhero series intended for adults (and with adult themes). Angel Love, by Barbara Slate

I've never read a Harry Potter book.

You can just shove all of my Ally trophies and medals out of the way and sit anywhere when you come visit my house.

This should absolutely be a scandal which people lose their jobs over. You'd have to assume that anyone in power actually cares though to think that would happen, which obviously would be a bold assumption in present circumstances.

Did you know that there is an academic conference within the San Diego Comic Convention? It's called the Comic Arts Conference. They just gave permission for presenters to announce that they'll be presenting there.

This will be exactly 30 years since the last time I attended SDCC--pretty exciting!

Apparent free speech absolutists can be kind of like our deficit hawk politicians. It’s their number one issue when their team isn’t in power and ignorable the rest of the time.

Is the University Of Austin Betraying Its Founding Principles?
Created as a haven for free thinkers, UATX was the last place where I’d expected to encounter ideological litmus tests.

It doesn't get reiterated enough that "human on a bicycle" is not only the most efficient way that a person can move, it's the most efficient form of motion ***ever observed in land animals***.

Thanks to @aaronhester.bsky.social for visiting my comics & mental illness class today. His comic Quick! I'm Melting! is highly recommended. It provides a well plotted and satisfying glimpse into developmental and mental health concerns of a post-college adult. Tasty character design too!

What do Dennis the Menace, Blondie, Plastic Man, and Luke Cage have in common? They've all been used to promote public health.

I review the first book on the topic of Graphic Public Health, by Meredith Li-Vollmer and include a bit of additional context and history.

Thrilled to host @mardoucomics.bsky.social in my comics and mental illness class today. Past Tense is likely the most complete account of a course of psychotherapy in comics. Masterful weaving of three very complex topics: personal accounts of family therapy and psychotherapy plus IFS.
