In today's Emissions Gap Report we are going to learn that emissions should have fallen by 35% come 2035 if we are to remain below 2ºC
That means for 10yrs emissions need to fall by ~4.2% EVERY yr
I think we will hear little about the 2030 target ~7% EVERY yr. until 2030

CCL supports policies that speed up the pace of building electrification while making it *affordable* to electrify. In the 119th Congress (2025-2026), that primarily means defending the climate and clean energy grants, rebates & tax credits in the Inflation Reduction Act. Not this ↙️

Brilliant idea.
👇🏻 Take every O&G subsidy and tax break (direct and indirect) and pour it into renewables with a JFK-like moon promise.
It would also massively stimulate the domestic economy.

One of the best ways to cripple Russia’s ambitions longterm would be to moonshot renewables development then spread the tech everywhere super-cheap. Russia produces nothing of significance beyond oil and gas. The economy would tank. Plus a huge win in the fight against the climate crisis.
