Can’t decide what to buy on Prime Day?

Try: absolutely nothing, and then go support indie bookstores instead 📚

Okay time for fun.

Go into your photo roll or whatever, and post the first image that makes you laugh literally out loud.

Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

Everyone!

The winner of the #DanceYourPhD comp. (physics) is sooooo worthy!

Great original track (ear worm!), and awesome vid.

Congrats Arfor Houwman, University of Innsbruck: “Collective Phenomena in Ultracold Dipolar Quantum Gases”

Cannot recommend this enough — what a great form of #SciComm 🧪

We place great importance on inclusivity and respect, values which help to make the IAYC an excellent place to learn about astronomy!

Thanks for tuning in and clear skies 🌌

When it comes to application gender statistics, we see more non-male applicants than male, which is not unique to our program. This trend is generally explained by traditional learning environments being best suited to males, thus non-males tend to seek alternative learning environments.

This year, 54 distinct countries were represented in applications, which is about a 17% increase in different nationalities from 2024, and a 32% increase from 2023! The international atmosphere of camp is one we are proud to offer, which fosters collaboration, discovery, and connection with peers.
