An 18yo US citizen, surrounded by eight masked, armed agents of the state, taken into custody, not read his rights, not offered a chance to contact a lawyer, proof of citizenship ignored, handcuffed so tightly he later required medical attention.

Profoundly, profoundly anti-American shit.

This one quote from Russell Vought sums it all up.

@propublica.org just did an outstanding piece on how Vought could be the real shadow president and the one consolidating power.

damn fine read.
We’ve modernized legacy government systems. We know what it takes. DOGE’s plan to migrate SSA’s COBOL systems without understanding is a disaster waiting to happen.

Here’s why DOGE will fail — and why it matters.

It's a high bar, but this from @radleybalko.bsky.social might be one of the most fucked up things I've read in the new Trump era. For context, this TX lawyer had just had an informal conversation with a family caught up in ICE raids.

Seriously. Read this. radleybalko.substack.com/p/the-courag...

Contrary to popular belief, what is important in science is as much its spirit as its product: it is as much the openmindedness, the primacy of criticism, the submission to the unforeseen, however upsetting, as the result, however new that may be. – Francois Jacob

I expect a Putin orchestrated infrastructure mass casualty event in the next six months which allows the Trump to declare martial law.
Ala the DHL explosives in flight technique.
The US Govt has officially stopped watching these threats.

First I want to say hello and be clear how happy I am to those of you who have chosen to (re) follow me in this new post-mozilla era. My current plan is to mix the topics of technology today with learnings from Mozilla. Sometimes that will occur in the same conversations, sometimes separately.

There are a lot of things about Mozilla that I’ll set aside, at least for now. At the same time, there is a lot of learning from the last 20 years, both positive and negative, that can can inform questions of technology and organizational dynamics today. I'm hoping that I'll also learn from you.

🚨 Everyone needs to call their Dem Senator right now. They are starting to cave.

Tell them:
1. Vote NO on Cloture
AND
2. Vote NO on the Republican spending bill.

Don’t let them pivot to reconciliation. GOP doesn’t need Dem votes on that and they know it.

TODAY is the showdown.
