At the dentist to have a broken tooth looked at. Been quoted £1900 for a root canal and crown. By coincidence the receptionists are discussing rolexes.

Translation….my mate Robbie sorted me out with a job and that’s how things are done in politics and media.
Lib Dem MP Cameron Thomas at DCMS committee: "Somebody you've described as a friend [Robbie Gibb] had a role in your appointment. You don't think that's unusual?"

Prescott: "If you operate in this country in the sphere of politics/media etc it's not that unusual to come across people that you know"

Anyone bought Office for Mac from groupon or wowcher? The Black Friday deal on Amazon is £62 for 12 months but on Wowcher there’s a perpetual licence of office 2016 home and business for £24. Is the version being older the only catch?

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

How long until one of them suggests giving refugees little tattoos with their registration number etc? Either none of them has the sense to go “er, hang on…” or they all hate each other so much they’ll keep quiet whilst others make horrific mistakes.

This is Archie. He's deaf and doesn't hear when his humans get home. Luckily, his little brother Frankie lets him know with a gentle nudge to make sure he doesn't miss the moment. 14/10 for both (TT: melissamilne)

Have to agree here. The BBC would not survive a Farage premiership so it needs to stop pandering to him. And raising editorial standards would fix a lot of its problems, including to some extent the transphobia.

Not sure what’s the worst thing I’ve watched tonight. The film Hounded on BBC2 or Liverpool’s performance against Crystal Palace.

Bit of a boring question but what do people consider is a reasonable portion of pasta? The bag I used last night suggested 75g (dried) but that seems so small. I normally use 100g and never considered it was too much. If I was having 75g I’d want a starter and pudding!

Thank you.

Invited to a friend’s house for dinner tonight and despite decades of practice I couldn’t find an excuse not to accept. Anyone had a nice bottle of wine recently? Can you remember what it was called and where you got it from?
