A side point I suppose but this just massively increases all the uncertainty, even if - or especially if - other countries call the bluff and Trump backs down. He can now cut like 80 different deals that vary literally day to day ! It’s truly madness.

It astounds me that so many rich people have such an outsized aversion to paying taxes and will acquiesce to so much societal harm in that pursuit when the payment would have negligible impact to them. I understand human behavior and I understand desire for wealth. But come on.
