I am preparing what I'll do for Christmas shopping 🎄 I want to buy from Irish businesses as much as I can, but as affordable as I can. Everything is just so expensive now. Any suggestions for where to look? Especially for bath/shower bits, books, stationery, candles etc. TIA 🎁 #Spéirgorm

Selling an accessible ticket (with free companion ticket) to see John Bishop tonight Wednesday 29th in the 3arena. They are available for below face-value. I am just not able to make it myself unfortunately! Message for more details 🎭 #ticketfairy #Speirgorm

Pleased to see that Achill Island was ranked the 8th best island globally

Excited to head back home for a few weeks soon. My village is a little slice of beauty flying under the radar that doesn't tend to make the headlines - but still top tier 🌊

Very sad to hear about the passing of Paul Durcan - one of my favourite poets & whose work I am so fond of. Years ago on QFM, myself and Anna D'Alton discussed Durcan's work in the second episode of our show Reader's Hour open.spotify.com/episode/4kFC...

That time again for my monthly post on here 😂 I sustained quite a nasty injury to my ankle. April was all about ice packs, resting and tunes 🙌

New and some rediscovered tracks ✨

That time again to share my March playlist ☘️ I finished the month with a badly sprained ankle. Bad enough to cancel my trip to Copenhagen, I was supposed to fly today. Swings & roundabouts 😂
Happy though to be recovering with some ☀️ & the grand stretch 😎 #Spéirgorm

I'm going to be in #Copenhagen soon for the first time. Any suggestions on things to see or do, especially anything a lil off the beaten track? Also any tips on getting around, making the trip accessible would be most welcome 🇩🇰

I know there's a drop in temp, but I had to wear my sunglasses for my driving lesson this morning. So that's good enough for me ☀️ #Spéirgorm

I seem to have fallen down an algorithmic rabbit hole of content about space, planets etc. And finding it really interesting! I'm a humanities/social sciences lady through & through, but would be open to #podcast & #documentary recommendations where I can get a better understanding 🌌💫

Slightly different post. Some time ago, in May 2023, I sat down with Tommy Marren from Midwest Radio. I was asked to participate in their documentary series, 'Welcome to My World'.

I talk about growing up in Achill, navigating life as a disabled child & teenager, grief & loss in my family 1/2

A quiet hobby I've had for 10+ yrs is making playlists, specifically monthly playlists! And other ones for 'gentle brain food', songs that feel like 'the grand stretch' or, if you fancy, 'bubblegum brain'

This month I cheated a bit & combined Dec & Jan #Spéirgorm

An important milestone as part of a group I am involved with, NDPAC (National Disabled Postgraduate Advisory Committee). Very welcome inclusion of proposals in the Programme for Government regarding better support for postgrad students in Ireland. We have fast become a leading voice 1/3

I spent Christmas & New Year's at home on the Rock 🌊 I've not been able to spend much time there over the last couple of years, so made up for lost time! I got to finally show my partner some sights as we're now able to spin around 🚗 It was the reset I needed. Happy new year 💫 #Achill #Spéirgorm

Okay, the end of the year is in sight, so maybe it’s a good time for us to tell you about our financials, here at Dublin Inquirer HQ at the Digital Hub on Thomas Street in Dublin 8. We ask for transparency from others, so some transparency from us is good too, right? 1/

Doing the very last of my Christmas shopping online. Can't tell you how many times I've absentmindedly put down my Mayo address for delivery by accident (I'm Dublin-based) 😆 Definitely not on the countdown to head back down to the Rock 💚❤️ #Spéirgorm

Hello BlueSky #SpéirGorm friends. I'm slowly getting to grips on this. I've mixed feelings about #IDPWD2024. What I will say: a disabling society clowns us all, we don't exist to make non-disabled ppl feel better about their own lives, it gets exhausting explaining why you're worth being 1/6

I've largely stayed 🤫 during #GE24 as my energy needs to be prioritised on other commitments. While disability, arguably, has never been more prominent as a concern in an election here before, there was a massive missed opportunity in how it has been framed across the board 1/4
