We had just beaten back a scam attempting to pass off fake, AI-written story as a hard-hitting investigation when @hallielieberman.bsky.social pitched me this. I was pretty sour on AI at the time! Glad I set aside my annoyance to allow that AI might have a positive use: helping women escape abuse.
You’ve heard of women with AI “boyfriends,” but what about women with AI marriage counselors?

Women in unhappy or abusive relationships, both cis and trans, are divorcing their partners on advice from AI, reports @hallielieberman.bsky.social

Oh who am I kidding the only thing an editor really wants is some nice, clean copy.
Editors have a really hard job, and the good ones can make something unreadable readable, and the great ones can make something unreadable into something good. But they're basically invisible, until someone tries to write without one.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a woman in possession of good taste must be in want of a Jane Austen novel. Alas, there are far too few to go around.

As someone who's lived abroad, I frequently compare the experience of getting health care in those places w/that of the US. So when @rewirenewsgroup.com was pitched a story contrasting the pain & cost of IUD insertion in 3 countries, I jumped to assign it. Wild guess: How do you think the US fares?
I Got Birth Control in Three Different Countries—Here’s How the U.S. Stacks Up
Analysis: Intrauterine devices, or IUDs, are an increasingly popular, long-acting contraception. But pain management and cost inhibit many patients in the U.S. and abroad.

In addition to being a YesAllWomen moment, this makes me concerned about the attentiveness of her security detail
Brava: “If I don’t file a complaint, then what message does that send to all Mexican women?” Ms. Sheinbaum said at her daily news conference, noting sexual harassment was a crime… “If this can happen to the president, what’s going to happen to all the young women & women across our country?”

This is a massive swing left for BA legislature. This previously longtime Republican body has been basically almost split even for about a decade, with a sometimes small D majority of a seat or two. +12 is radical departure
Looks like the Dems will pick up 12 seats in the VA House of Delegates, which will go from 51-49 to 63-37 D-R. That's an honestly shocking result.

This headline qualifies for understatement of the year award. As journalists we like couching ( “some” or “many”) for accuracy, but find me one ACA patient who *enjoys* the rate hike.

Proposed swap: Americans to see steep insurance premium hikes under Trump and they don’t like it
Sticker shock for ACA recipients:

Clint and Cindy Kittrell, Oregon: $305/month --> $2,500/month.

Chad and Tara Smith, Idaho: $710/month --> $1,000/month.

Jessica Bunger, Florida: New premiums quadruple to $1,100/month. "I’ve never felt so powerless in my life"

What we're witnessing with #Melissa is ultra rare in the history of known hurricanes in the Atlantic. This level of sustained intensity and feasting on every joule of ocean heat content without any real disruption is incredible.

Not hyperbole: Jamaica is facing a generational catastrophic event.
