Clip from latest track, slated for the next release, provisionally titled “Färghörsel”. This is the first track I’ve successfully arranged on the iPad, which is a bit of a breakthrough for me. All hardware sounds except the new Microwave 1 AU
Would never have drawn a line from Appalachia to Java, but this album of fiddle (and more) keeps reminding me of gamelan - specifically the Tarawangsa Ritual Music release on Javasounds. Other things too, but the tuning and more have strong similarities sallyannemorgan.bandcamp.com/album/second...

This is the deepest nonsense.
1) everything about generative AI is *fundamentally* relational. It is literally 100% relational.
2) like it or not, you need to actually engage with the topic you're fighting against
3) most human thieves are taking lame shortcuts. Some humans elevate sampling to art
I counter the claim that "AI steals just the way human artists steal." We do not. Artists engage relationally with sources rather than severing them for computational processing. Computers are not people. Comparing generative tools to artists is a dehumanizing act.

Final show in this incarnation tonight. TBH I'm ready for it to change (even though I like the latest album a lot more than the last few), but also the last tour was one of the best times I've seen them, so 🤞

Well, I didn't get as much music purchasing done as I'd hoped, but I did get through six months of Bandcamp emails. Some dope releases in here though

Autechre in Brighton tonight: not quite Hearn Street Garage great, but great. Sorted me the fuck out. The first half sounded like something beautiful trying to emerge through some sonic barrier, always thwarted. The second half was relentless. Always beyond expectation before you know what that is

Fighting the good fight
Today I was "Daryl", and was called by Three support telling me my SIM was going to stop working the next day, but don't worry, I'll get sent a new one by 12pm tomorrow.

I managed to waste 15 minutes of their time before I couldn't click the validation link to the fake email I gave. #scam

Just saw Inside No. 9 Stage/Fright. I am not a fan of the theatre normally. Huge fan of Inside No. 9. This was one of the best things I've ever seen. Pure joy. My face is totally worn out from laughter. But the horror bits were brilliant too. Everything I live about creativity in one

Marathon last weekend. 9th time running the distance, 1st time racing. It’s horrible. Too long to *want* to maintain the high effort required to empty yourself, and in practice it gets harder as you go. An Ultra is much more fun. The terrain, pace and environment varies, it’s mainly aerobic…

This is incomprehensible. Kilian Jornet finished his latest project, ascending all 73 of the ‘14ers’ in the lower 48 states (peaks >14,000 feet, or 4,267 metres), connected by bike, optimising for aesthetics over speed, smashing FKTs along the way, in 31 days www.theguardian.com/sport/2025/o...
