Nice. I can’t recall if any other local reprobates are coming, but will drag them in too if so

You going to day 1 or 2? I'll be there on Day 1 if you fancy food and/or drink before

🐷, radio or Hardware Asset Management?

Oh. That sounds like what I expect of most established artists. I don't expect any of them to be good people. I expect most of them to be massive anuses. That's my baseline dissociation of artist/person. Sometimes you meet a nice one

LOOOOOOL. Abuser of semicolons. I can only assume that means user of semicons

I seem to be out of touch (unsurprisingly). I remember an old article, which was maybe 10 years ago. The way it was reported, it was hard to parse. I spoke to everyone I know who likes SWANS about it, and everyone's jury was out. Most were dismissive. Hadn't seen anything since. What am I missing?

After 2.5 hours, I can say this had moments as good as any I've seen. The first 23 minutes was the customary build from nothing to the largest crescendo ever, but now inconceivably large forever. All I know is that those moments are like nothing else you'll experience. Raw, overwhelming wall/emotion

Ha! Yeah same kind of feeling about something trying to escape throughout the first half. And there were definitely vocal samples briefly, but very mangled/burried

Sounds very similar! And yeah, that last one was so great. Not sure it was quite all 7/4 and then all 4/4. More haphazard than that in both parts I think, although there was definitely some 4/4 in the last half. There was also some really wild polyrhythms in the transitions between tracks

Anything like my description?

Maybe a Thing off: Carpenter's Thing vs. Marvel's Thing. Hollywood would, of course, never do such a thing

Yeah, that first half was really dense and most things were hard to identify with any clarity other than the beats. The whole set felt as overwhelming as reality
November 6, 2025 at 10:49 AM
Yes. BTW there were two dudes in the audience last night who wouldn't shut up for about five minutes of the set. One of them sounded like you. Noticing that he was not, I was both pleased (for your good standing in our community) and disappointed (not to see you)

It was pretty dense. Not sure what any of it was beyond a constant pummelling, and some evident Nord or Wavetable sounds along the way
