As Pride Month draws to a close, and as someone who grew up in the US South, I have one message to homophobic parents today. You can take the books out of the libraries, but your gay kids will still be gay. They’ll just hate you, and when they grow up, they’ll move far away and find new families. 🏳️‍🌈

If you are a person playing songs out of a hip-mounted Bluetooth speaker in public, you have bad taste in music.
Doesn't matter what piece it is, everyone thinks it's trash

Do not go gentle into that good night
Old age should burn and rave at close of day
Rage, rage against the dying of the light

A ★★★★★ review of Interstellar (2014)

A ★★★★ review of The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part (2019)
This movie is: Accumulative || The Lego Movie (2014) was an exercise in the subversion of expectations. This movie attempted to do so as well. You can kind of tell it was a bit of an uphill battle fro...

A ★★★★★ review of Upgrade (2018)
This movie is: Next-level || I mean, the camera work ALONE! Hoo-ee, what a rodeo! When I say this movie comes out swinging, I mean IT COMES OUT SWINGING. Camera twists back and forth on the Z‐axis and...

"Average movie is 141 minutes in length" factoid actually just statistical error. Arabia Georg, which was released in 1962 and has a runtime over 3.5 million hours, is an outlier adn should not have been counted boxd.it/6VOizp
Review of ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ (1962) ★★★
This movie is: Vast || These days, people always complain whenever a movie pushes 2.5 hours. How is this movie NOT considered part of the problem? There's a story here, for sure, but it's buried…

No one on earth knows how to fold a fitted sheet. This is arcane knowledge, that which man was not meant to know, and those that knew in the past were cursed to an eldritch madness, so that it was forever lost to time. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a liar and a thief

"Objective truth exists": rigid, stale, can have problematic undertones if not handled carefully

Make no mistake, there is a race by tech companies to normalize use of gen AI as fast as possible across creative fields, before sensibility within law can coalesce.

So fight back: reject using it in your workplace; inform friends sharing funny AI image memes; and mock its use to ardent backers.
