A set of five collages made entirely from playing cards, mostly using the detailed red, yellow, black and white patterns that make up the face cards. The five creatures are reminiscent of a human-headed and winged sphinx, a seahorse holding a sword, a rabbit with a staff and long spines along its back, a peacock holding flowers in its feet, and lastly a running hound.

I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Safaa. Safaa was a doctor in Gaza specializing in childhood illnesses and malnutrition and her husband Mohammed was an ophthalmologist. They managed to flee to Egypt with their children Jawa and Jad but have no papers and cannot work there.
