My attempt at being absorbed by "Giovanni's Room" was somewhat thwarted by my brain's insistence on saying "no bless you for Giacomo?" every time I read the name Giovanni.

The most unrealistic thing about Ted Lasso is that people aren't constantly calling him Ted Lassue.

Rushing to finish "Earth Abides" solely because I want to write a review and rant about how much I hate the protagonist. I guess that's as good a motivation as any? #booksky

Well now I feel better about having found both Solaris and The War of the Worlds to be mind-numbingly dull. On the other hand, I just read Roadside Picnic and loved it, which I think maybe makes me a bad feminist? Win some, lose some.

I haven't seen this adaptation, but if you're starting your review from the premise that the Count of Monte Cristo is a bad book, I must protest. The Château d'If for the reviewer. The Château d'If for Mille Ans!
