“There is no such thing as a non-training doctor”.

Dr Emma Wain wonderfully summed up who SAS doctors are and why they’re so important at our SAS Doctors Reception.

We were born on a planet abundant enough for everyone to thrive…

But the rich and powerful carved it up, waged war on what they couldn’t own, called it scarcity

…and sold us the illusion that we must compete for crumbs.

Also had a hysteroscopy without pain relief. I thought I was going to die. Cervical biopsies are arse too. Medicine must be rewritten with women.

I declined my fourth hysteroscopy last week because pain relief wasn’t available. Last time they actually performed a biopsy while in there, without any anaesthetic whatsoever, and I decided this was completely unacceptable. So I got an MRI scan instead!

'amid growing recognition that women's pain should be treated'

i once had to have a hysteroscopy and was told that they generally carry on until the pain is unbearable so i should just let them know when i could no longer handle it

FACT: The United States is the only developed country in the world without universal health coverage for all of its citizens - and that's absolutely shameful, especially for the most wealthy nation on the planet.

I think it speaks volumes that right wingers criticize bluesky for being “liberal” and “left wing”, when it’s really just that hate speech isn’t allowed.

I was thinking about
"fascinating a woman". Currently there are pictures on the ceiling, music and VR used to distract women in outpatient gynaecology clinics.

I’m recovering from a ‘failed’ hysteroscopy. It’s the only ‘oscopy’ performed without anaesthetic because forcing women to endure pain saves the NHS £££ each yr. The leaflet said take paracetamol. I almost threw up/passed out from severe pain. Pls sign: chng.it/YwCzLdfyTP

The Campaign Against Painful Hysteroscopy has now amassed over 7,500 accounts of painful procedures from #women who have suffered severe pain, fainting, vomiting, screaming, no information, no informed consent! It has to change!

Here is my poem ‘What Doctors Said To Me’. Written after a failed Hysteroscopy without analgesia as the NHS saves money by not giving it to women. I wrote this whilst in severe pain & bleeding heavily a week later. #MedicalMisogyny

It was barbaric, the irony in the Dr telling me ‘We are not Barbarians’ when I was in tears and barely able to speak or walk afterwards… yes, you don’t routinely give women analgesia for this, you ARE barbarians.
