I think I understand the appeal of writing a one page TTRPG though I can't see myself doing it.

There's something to be said for simplicity and clarity of purpose.

This minimalist RPG is 100% goofy pulp space nonsense and I'm enjoying the simplicity of keeping it short

When I am writing fiction I often kept side projects on going to keep my mind fresh and prevent or solve writing blocks

I did not expect to do that in TTRPG writing

Now I have, I'm working on a silly pulp age of Rockets, sexy, silly, go get em adventure game for fun

actively looking for #ttrpg people from teh other site to follow RN, my feed there is so messed up it's not even showing mostthe people I want to connect with over here.

I could use my follower's list but I followed way too many random irrelevant accounts over the years on "X".

I’m about a month out from playtesting my TTRPG and, assuming all goes well, I’m thinking of doing another round of research before buttoning it up

#TTRPG #TTRPGDevs, what new systems out there do you think are doing cool stuff?

Going to be wrapping up my first round of playtesting later this month, so will be headed back into R&D very soon!

If anybody has got any additional TTRPG system recommendations, would love to hear them!

I think that a #TTRPG system should be as complex and flexible as possible, to provide for better storytelling opportunities. And I think as much of that complexity as possible should be buried deep in the system, so players don't have to think about it at the table.

This shit is hard, y'all.

So I've no idea how popular the #TTRPGRising scene is here after a brief hiatus of health. But...

Just because I like seeing what everyone is working on.

How about it? What have you been creating TTRPGCommunity?😍

I've set myself the daunting task of fleshing out no less than 72 gods for my TTRPG

That's a thing I got myself into

Yep

So we demo'd lots of TTRPG systems this year, Girl By Moonlight, Tales from the Loop, GURPS, Lasers and Feelings, Avatar TLA RPG, and a handful of others in the works. What systems should we feature for next year on stream? Tag your favorite designers!

This is the majority of the world of Modern Elendra, a land of high magic, warped irrevocably by war. I'm always unsure where to start so showing people the map and asking them what interests them the most and then waxing garrulous as the pertinent lore permits.

A wizard who accidentally casts high level magics due to typos.

You know.

This is an interesting thread for ttrpg creators and perhaps even reviewers
Question for those who read RPG manuals - what order do you prefer to encounter sections dealing with: game rules, character creation and setting information? (And does it change based on how much character or setting sections make reference to rules concepts?)

1. no-rules explanation of the setting and in-game experience of player characters

2. Explanation of TTRPG concepts for newbs

3. Basic rule mechanics w/ emphasis on "what's different from that other D20 game"

4. Character Creation

5. Spells & Equipment

6. Detailed rules (combat etc.)

7. Index

I like at least a summary of key mechanics before chargen, otherwise you can't make informed decisions

Basically:
Core activity & Setting overview
Main rules
Chargen
Main rules
Main setting
Additional rules

I need some setting up front for context. I.e.: “this is a game designed to give an 80s action movie feel,” or “this is a 2 player game about falling in love,” or “this is a game about an industrializing fantasy world and everyone is an insect.” Then chargen, then rules, then full settings.

I managed to finish a significant part in my TTRPG Into Adventure today - honestly been dragging my butt on it for a bit

Now to work on Traits and the like.

If anyone is wondering, Into Adventure is a 80s style RPG that not as Old School as the OSR stuff

Think more Megatraveler, AD&D 2nd Ed or so

got to sit down with my wip ttrpg a bit today and compile my thoughts on a potential revamp of the combat/chase/action system

in theory this will be a unified system that fits not only traditional squad skirmishes, but also giant solo monsters, chases, disasters, etc with only minor differentiation

The main reason I joined Blu Skylab was to talk about writing and Table Top Role Playing Games in a different space than Bird Land

Not sure how that's going to work out just yet.

Anyone else here for the TTRPG stuff primarily?
