Doug Ford doesn't care about Ontario's school children.
Too many children and school staff are sweltering in poorly ventilated #OntEd classrooms with no air conditioning. Now with wildfire smoke raging outside we can’t even open the windows to provide some air flow. But we can afford a ridiculous tunnel and an overpriced spa. Thanks, Doug.
As many Ontario cities endure one of this year's first heat event, we need to better understand the link between heat and workplace safety.

Meanwhile, the province remains 'data blind' on heat-related deaths.

We have a lot of work to do.

Now would be a great time for @ndp.ca, @canadiangreens.bsky.social & Bloq to push for electoral reform in ex. for stable support.

I'm happy with the outcome but hope this isn't the final slide into a 2 party system. Vote splitting and strategic voting with FPTP isn't much better.

CBC said early votes tend to come in later, but the reporting comes in by poll. How does that work? If you do advanced voting do you technically belong to a different poll than the one on election day?

Starbucks prohibits food-service employees from preventing the spread of infectious disease. Enjoy your coffee.
🧵Confirmation via a friend: Starbucks will forbid employees from masking without a medical note.

Giant US-based MAGAcorp known for union-busting, actively preventing workers from protecting themselves and the public from known workplace health hazards?

Starbucks wants you infected.

Advanced polls were as busy as election day this morning! I hope this is a promising sign of high turnout.

Why is CBC reporting on the debate outside? Are they locked out? They look chilly.

Credit where credit is due - the new GRT app makes casual riding a lot easier than having to find change or buy a card. It's great when you happen to need to get between two places that are connected by the iON. Hopefully in time coverage will expand so that happens more often.

We need to talk about @rachelgilmore.bsky.social
Our democracy is not going to make it without strong journalists. Let me begin by stating the obvious: these thoughts are mine alone. They do not speak for my employers. They are personal and, at this moment, angry. #cdnmedia

🚨 NIH sent out another data call, this time for projects "related to any form of censorship at all or directing people to believe one idea over another related to health outcomes… e,g., any contracts to promote COVID vaccine uptake," I'm told.

These data calls have recently preceded terminations.

Another day another irresponsible CBC article spreading dangerous and misleading 'normalcy' propaganda. This time pathologizing a child for being smarter than the adults in his life. The radio discussion with @ramraajh.bsky.social was just as outrageous as the article.

BREAKING NEWS: Canadian Premier Wab Kinew of Manitoba MOCKS Trump by signing a “beautiful” order that officially removes ALL American liquor from Canadian stores in his province.

Donald Trump just caused massive economic damage to our country. How sad and embarrassing.

This. 100%. If @cbcnews.ca wants to have any claim to legitimately they need to do a strong 180 and hire some real journalists.
As non-Americans, I think our best bet right now is to make our media and public figures stop SANE WASHING all of the crazy coming from the WH. Call it what it is in words that are appropriate: insane actions of a grifting doomsday cult that has taken over the US government.

More hand-wringing this morning from @cbcradiocanada.bsky.social about school attendance. When will they consider the impact of constant & chronic illness, inconsistent instruction, & gaslighting/indifference from admin? The idea that teacher absenteeism is "self care gone too far" is absurd.

I don't know what to make of this. I want to believe it was a protest, but I have a sinking feeling it wasn't.
During the US governors ball, the US Army Choir surrounded the MAGA leadership and sang: "Do
You Hear The People Sing"

The oligarchs didn’t even realize they were being protested. #3E #USprotest #EndOligarchy
