Tired, ya’ll.
This is the most recent issue of JHU’s outreach to alumni. It includes a somber letter from the editor which acknowledges without real criticism the unprecedented and uncertain “Right Now.” It instead offers an urgent truth being washed away by dangerous propaganda and policy:

I just landed in San Salvador a little while ago, and I look forward to meeting with the team at the U.S. embassy to discuss the release of Mr. Abrego Garcia.

I also hope to meet with Salvadoran officials and with Kilmar himself. He was illegally abducted and needs to come home.

It’s a month since the administration detained and disappeared a green card holder, a lawful permanent resident.

We cannot allow this to be normalized or forgotten.

Every college now gets to choose whether to be a Georgetown or a Columbia in the face of this administration and I think we all know which one they're going to choose.

This is the kind of systemic bigotry the Trump administration emboldens. Grateful for those who pushed back against this dangerous and offensive legislation, but angry about the result.

Super easy to call this number, find your House rep by zip code, and call to ask them to oppose the current budget resolution
Leadership is doubling down, but GOP members are getting nervous about the budget’s extreme unpopularity.

You can call your Representative now at 202-224-3121.
Looks like tomorrow will bring votes on a Republican plan to fund tax cuts for the rich by slashing Medicaid.

So this is a great time to contact your Member of Congress.

NEW: Georgia’s governor promotes his Medicaid work requirement as a national model for reform.

Yet the program has cost taxpayers $86M, three-quarters of which has gone to consultants, and enrolled less than 3% of the quarter-million Georgians eligible.
Georgia Touts Its Medicaid Experiment as a Success. The Numbers Tell a Different Story.
Only 6,500 participants have enrolled in a program that has cost taxpayers more than $86 million — a warning for other states looking to impose restrictions on Medicaid in a second Trump presidency.
