It’s not just the tech fascists. Across the international radicalising Right, biological determinism is back in public. DEI is depicted as contradicting the facts of nature: being an affluent White man is proof one is genetically superior. No program can change that “fact.” 🙄

A bit perplexed at the headlines about today’s #marchforhumanity saying “perilous” and “police feared the worst”. Surely the story is that, in spite of police fears, the march was peaceful, demonstrators full of goodwill and happily cooperated with police instructions to manage the huge turnout.

John Hewson (and Everald) v much on 🎯 with this.

Total betrayal of the victims and makes it clear many of our "representatives" primary thought is to protect themselves rather than to protect Australia.

I hope you enjoyed your #auspol democracy day

Only 6.6% of the world is in a “full democracy”. Australia is one of those precious few

Less than half (45%) the world lives in any sort of democracy

What we have is special

I participated across Hawke & Ballarat (where I’m from)

How about you?

Honestly, it was so thoughtful for all the Trump folks to make stupid denials on camera yesterday — some under oath! — so this revelation would land so much harder.
The Atlantic and @jeffreygoldberg.bsky.social are committing journalism today.

They have a vetted mega-scoop. They handled it responsibly.

The WH and Admin lied about it.

The Atlantic called their bluff.

The material released just now is even more damning for the Trump team.

America is being colonised again. Possibly a similarity with what the indigenous felt when the colonists came. This time it is colonisation from within with the comforts of the very few taken from the many.
And so the taking is more visible.

Yes, Dear Dumb and Dumber, climate change is making insurance premiums skyrocket, not lack of competition.
Competition is great, but it’s not going to make your insurance premiums cheaper. Tax fossil fuel companies properly and make them pay for the damage they have already done.

Did you know one of the major donors $$ to Creative Australia (aka Australia Council For The Arts) is the Besen Family Foundation?

The Besen Foundation strongly supports Zionism & has been known to withdraw major arts funding if board decisions do not suit their world view.

Isn't that fascinating?
