Governments are offering lots of State Funerals these days. I have always expressed regret that Ned Kelly did not get one. After all Ned always did what he said he would do and that is a rare gift in #politics. Modern Aussies would vote for him big time if he was around to run for #Parliament today.

No #government in Australia at any of our three levels is seriously investing in #infrastructure we urgently need. Only way forward is via public private partnerships that are more visionary and wise than those that failed in years past.

Battle to achieve #netzero has two enemies. First are clueless climate deniers. Also are those who attend #COP conferences and achieve nothing. They just talk and talk. Kyoto and Paris Agreements have not been honoured & use of #fossilfuels grows annually. We need new leaders for #climatecrisis.

Today I remembered Bert Wyllie, my wife Helen's dad. On this day in France in 1918 he was doing his job as stretcher bearer bringing wounded mates to safety in the trenches when he heard war was over. He knew he was going home to marry Hilda the lovely person who was waiting for his return.

Have read lots of reports on why #ZohranMamdani won election as Mayor of #NewYork. Simple reason is he gave people hope and inspiration. Wonderful contrast to the divisive aggressive greed & bigotry of #Trump.
