Today, in a well-known UK university, a research integrity officer interviewed an individual accused of misconduct, who told the officer she didn’t do it.

And if she did, the rules said said she could.

Case closed.

A bit like talking to OJ Simpson and asking him whether he did it.

Physical buttons are finally coming back to cars. 🤌

It’s not just an aesthetic choice, though—it’s a safety-conscious one. Research shows that reaction times using screens while driving are worse than being drunk or high.

Scientists just can’t help themselves.
Well, we have Rich Tea Biscuits with our morning tea every day
Last year, we recorded some data about the biscuits every time we opened a new packet
We got through 62 packets of biscuits (possibly more—but we recorded 62 packets)
Here’s what we found:

Ask a grey-haired pediatrician about how many lumbar punctures they used to have to do in a shift for infants that then ended up having Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type b) meningitis.

Also, if you did not vaccinate your kids, PLEASE do not lie about it if they need care. It is critical information.
I treated very young kids in my ER who had a fever today.

They're too young to realize how lucky they are to be vaccinated.

Their parents were reminded by me of how wise their choices were, though.

Their being vaccinated meant we had to do FAR less testing and extensive treatments than otherwise.

Look. It’s quite simple. It costs ~£13000 to deliver a high quality science degree. Let universities charge a fair price.

Scientists of the UK, please sign this if you can.
✉️ Some science 🧪 buddies and I have written an open letter to the UK government, strongly opposing their “kicking woke ideology out of science” sentiments, which stand to damage the UK’s scientific standing and ability to deliver for public good.
