You can hear the woman yelling “my daughter, my daughter. I can’t leave her by herself,” as she’s dragged to a police car.
From the PastPresentAndFuture community on Reddit: The NYPD and ICE mistakenly arrest a Chilean woman on vacation in New York City and police left her 12-year-old daughter on the street alone.

We finally have confirmation that Kilmar is safe, all things considered. Now, let’s bring him home and to his family!
Bukele just posted this on X, suggesting he arranged a meeting between Kilmar Abrego Garcia and Chris Van Hollen. He then used it to mock his critics for expressing concern about Mr. Abrego.

If these photos are real, it suggests diplomatic pressure worked, despite his "I'm not mad" attitude.

If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.

Why is the nominated Chairman of the Joint Chiefs someone who’s taking paychecks from Donald Trump’s relatives?
In tonight's military purge, Tump nominated Dan Caine for Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, a retired Lt. General so underqualified he'd need a waiver. Even odder: Caine was installed last month at 3 VC firms doing crypto, AI, and defense tech, including Thrive, founded by Jared Kushner's brother. 1/

LFG State of Maine!
TRUMP: The NCAA has complied immediately. That's good. But I understand Maine -- is the governor of Maine here?

JANET MILLS: Yeah I'm here

TRUMP: Are you not gonna comply?

JM: I'm going to comply with state and federal law

T: You better do it bc you're not gonna get any federal funding at all

A defining policy battle is about to come to a head in this country. The Republican budget will force everyone - especially Congress and the White House - to make plain whether they are prepared to harm the rest of us in order to fund tax cuts for the wealthiest.

I've noted some of the procedural things Democrats could be doing in Congress, but this point from @edgeofsports.bsky.social's great piece in the Nation deserves emphasis.

This is basic politics, and it's baffling that every Democrat isn't doing it every day.

Has it occured to them that one reason voters aren’t biting on the idea that liberal democracy is facing an existential threat is that they find it inconceivable the opposition party would be nattering about fucking egg prices if they really believed that were true?

Click inside Anna’s post and read through the r/fednews thread. These federal firings and funding freezes are harming lives and setting our civil services back decades.
“The thing that I can’t get over is that the actual richest man in the world directed my fucking firing. I make $50k a year and work to keep drinking water safe. The richest man in the world decided that was an expense too great for the American taxpayer.”
Yesterday many thousands of federal employees were terminated. This is a Reddit thread for federal employees that got laid off.
