Hey, I have a concept for a line of tools, and am in the process of prototyping them.
Sure you probably get these all the time, but some background info on me: I was in aerospace R&D at 19, at what is now Lockheed Martin in Colorado. These tools don't exist but they need to.

Here is the last paragraph of a Dana Bash article regarding a talk with 47 about the breakup. I think it's a very important observation, and we maybe should be looking elsewhere. I'm told the Recission Bill codifies DOGE's agency eliminations, and that goes to the house soon...

If you think a just-fertilized ovary is entitled to life but are indifferent to what happens to a kidnapped 4-year-old with cancer, sent to a dangerous country without meds, you don’t give a fuck about the lives of children. You are just in a cult that fetishizes being against abortions.

It's so odd that Christian Nationalists are trying to stomp out *pretend* "anti-Christian bias" when their repudiation of everything Jesus ever said is the biggest example of *real* "anti-Christian bias" in the United States right now.

I'm waiting for DOGE staff to start laying off DOGE staff. After all, they're overpaid, probationary employees who have obvious competency issues.

Not getting much attention, but the Senate GOP is about to start voting - to make sure banks can charge higher overdraft fees. Seriously.

Good time to let your Senators know what you think of that.

I've always been deeply suspicious of people that favor "the way it used to be".

In general I just think they're being myopic and not considering that their "wonderful" past was someone else's tragedy.

I traffic hard on nostalgia, but it's more about the FEELINGS we had.
I need all of my fellow synthwave and retrosynth folks to internalize this and repeat it as often as possible.

The version of the past that many yearn for isn't real and never was. It's a fiction, and it's perfectly okay to indulge in it so long we remember that it's a fantasy world and always was.
So, is now a good time to mention that fascists use nostalgia baiting like this as a recruitment tactic?

They try to make the future seem bleak and hopeless, with the only way back to happiness being a return to a past that never was - only what we understood through the eyes of children.

What I keep wondering is, if WE know about Krasnov, why didn't the FBI or any other agency or department charged with identifying threats, foreign and domestic, to the US know? Or they did and...?
I mean two significant Soviet figures said decades ago what their goal was. Putin was very clear. WTF?

This moment in our country's history is depressing, but it's also illuminating. We're finding out, in real time, whom among those in power will hedge their bets, trade complicity for personal preservation, and retreat into cowardice in the hopes they'll be spared.

And we will remember their names.

This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office.
2) Elected officials rewrite the rules in the donors' favor.
3) Donors make a huge profit.
4) Repeat.

For the sake of democracy, we must get Big Money out of politics.

It is no coincidence that so much of the US is poor, and the rich have gotten so rich. Stop looking down to find someone to blame. Stop looking at your neighbors to find someone to blame. LOOK UP. Inequality is destroying us.
