🖋️ “Do your job! Support Ukraine. Say NO to illegal impoundment & treaty breaking.” hit 1,000 signers!

Text POKNNG to 50409
Do your job! Support Ukraine. Say NO to illegal impoundment & treaty breaking.
Text SIGN POKNNG to 50409 — Are we treaty breakers? Will you condone treaty breaking and illegal impoundment? In the 1994 Budapest Memorandum, Ukraine agreed to relinquish its nuclear weapons. The US promised to defend Ukraine's territory. Now Trump is seeking to block the aid you voted for and align with our foe Putin. Do you approve of treaty breaking with an ally who denuclearised, trusting our promise of protection? It is morally abhorrent to violate that, or any, treaty. Do you approve of the President usurping Congress's constitutional power of appropriations, illegally and unconstitutionally blocking aid Congress had approved? If you let this stand, then the President can interfere with anything Congress does. Your compliance will mark the descent of the US into dictatorship. Do you approve or giving aid and succour to a foe? I do not approve of any of these. I am horrified, grief stricken and ashamed. Please reply in writing to let me know whether we should honor treaties and whether you will tolerate Congress ceding its power to the President and complying with an unconstitutional dictatorship. If you are not willing to honor treaties, prevent a dictatorship, and stand by our allies, I urge you to resign immediately.

🖋️ “Protect public education: invest in our children” hit 100 signers!

Text PYCDIW to 50409
Protect public education: invest in our children
Text SIGN PYCDIW to 50409 — I urge you to stand against efforts to dismantle the Department of Education. The administration is using misleading language—like “returning education to the states”—to obscure the consequences: millions of students, particularly those in lower-income communities and students with disabilities, could lose access to the resources they need to succeed. Weakening federal education programs threatens the foundation of opportunity and equity in our public schools. For decades, the Department of Education has ensured that every student—regardless of background—has access to a quality education. It enforces civil rights protections, funds school meal programs, and provides essential support through the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504. Without these programs, students and families will be left without critical resources that help them thrive. Congress plays a vital role in ensuring that education remains a national priority. Reducing federal oversight does not strengthen schools—it weakens protections, deepens inequality, and places unnecessary burdens on families and educators. These changes do not address the real challenges our schools face but instead create uncertainty for students, teachers, and parents working hard to build a better future. More than 90% of students—and 95% of students with disabilities—attend public schools that depend on Department of Education programs. My own child benefited from a 504 Plan, which provided the necessary support for success. Millions of students with ADHD, anxiety, autism, and other conditions rely on these protections. Limiting these programs will make it harder for students to receive the education they deserve. This is not about politics—it is about ensuring that every child has the same opportunities to learn and grow, no matter where they live or their circumstances. Dismantling the Department of Education will have long-term consequences for students, families, and our country’s future. I urge you to oppose any efforts to defund or weaken the Department of Education. Public education must remain strong, equitable, and accessible to all. Please stand up for students, educators, and communities by protecting the programs that support them. Ensure strong schools. Protect public education. Invest in our children’s future.

🖋️ “Oppose Staff Cuts and Budget Cuts to NOAA” hit 100 signers!

💬 Text SIGN PODMQX to 50409
Oppose Staff Cuts and Budget Cuts to NOAA
Text SIGN PODMQX to 50409 — Today I take pen in hand to write and urge you to oppose and block the Trump Administrations DANGEROUS proposed cuts to the workforce and budget of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). This is a dangerous path, and one that can only lead to mass casualty events during extreme weather, unsafe air space for airline travel, and poor prediction of many events, like hurricanes, tornadoes, derechos, extreme cold and heatwaves, and so on. The war on science, of which this is a part, will weaken our ability to predict the speed of climate-change charged events and needed research on its side effects. These drastic reductions in funding, which include laying off a quarter of NOAA's workforce, threaten to cripple vital programs that protect lives and property. No civilian company can fill in these gaps. They are relatively small and in nearly every case, highly dependent on NOAA and its subsidiaries data collection and computer systems As a constituent concerned about safeguarding our climate, our environment and public safety, I urge you to reject these reckless cuts. I demand instead an increase NOAA's budget to allow it to carry out its many essential mission more effectively. Stand up for science. Block, Vote NO, and stop these reckless cuts and reduced budgets for NOAA and NWS.
