The Internet Archive has to date downloaded 500 terabytes of US government websites, which it crawls at the end of every presidential term. The whole archive is fully searchable. This effort's housed by a donation-funded nonprofit, not a branch of the US government. blog.archive.org/2024/05/08/e...

If the killer played Among Us and that drove him to kill according to the media, then considering how well that game sold, every healthcare CEO should be rightfully shitting themselves.

Took me a bit but I've found the framing to put into words a way to express to the people fretting about the death of the UHC CEO why we just aren't heeding their admonishment:

The social contract stipulates that all life is sacred, and Brian Thompson violated it.

But it's more than that.

The more I sit with my thoughts after having finished #DragonAgeTheVeilguard, the less I like it. It is (what I view to be) an objectively good game, and its biggest weakness (the early game’s writing and pacing) is remedied as you get later in the game. The final act feels cathartic and good! 🧵1/

Fantastic 2024 video game tribute by @lilseb93.bsky.social!

Also, I will never *not* immediately fall in love with a piece of media featuring Like A Prayer
As promised, my 2024 video game tribute.

Here is to another great year of gaming!

Just finished #DragonAgeTheVeilguard and wow, what an ending! I’m going to be chewing on this for a while. A lot of stuff I liked, and a lot of stuff I didn’t, but overall I’m impressed with what BioWare managed to pull together

The "bluesky is an echo chamber" think pieces that keep popping up really tickle me because they show how certain people genuinely believe social media should be for debating and arguing and not talking about the things that make you happy and sharing art with the world.

I’ve had several back-to-back health issues crop up these last few months, and no real answers from my doctor about any of them. It’s affecting my sleep and my ability to focus, and I nearly had a panic attack today because of it all.

Shouting into the void cause I just need to vent SOMEWHERE

Really excited to be in this echo chamber of good people, people making good things, and people finding good ways to live in a tough world.

Saw someone on Twitter this morning say: “You can’t win arguments over on Bluesky because everyone’s too nice to each other.”

You can’t win arguments on Twitter either, no one wins, it’s just endless back and forth that makes you wonder why you said anything to begin with.

I’m 80 hours in and this is how I’ve been feeling. It’s hard to let go of what I wish it could have been because I miss old-school Dragon Age so much, but I have to admit that’s been gone since DAI (arguably DA2).

But when I let myself judge DATV on its own merits, it’s been mostly solid so far!
for the record, having played Dragon Age Veilguard for about a week now, I'm really really enjoying it. It is not at all the Dragon Age game I would have made, it's not at all what I would have expected, but it's very good at what it is
