They will throw us scapegoats, but everyone who was a part of this, from top to bottom, must face meaningful, lasting punishment.
BREAKING Greg Bovino has been removed as Border Patrol "commander at large" and will return to El Centro Calif, where he is expected to retire soon. A stunning turnaround after Pretti killing. Bovino's traveling blue city crackdown is over www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...

Al Capp is the prototypical "celebrity cartoonist." Few other artists before or since had his level of absurd fame and a handful of his neologisms and phrases still persist even as Lil' Abner has long since faded into obscurity. But he was an asshole, a bitter old fascist crank, and a rapist.
Reading about a cartoonist who had it all--popular syndicated strip, best-selling books, merchandise, media tie-ins, friendship with celebrities and politicians--but he became a bitter rightwing crank in his final years and seemed almost compelled to destroy his own legacy.

29 years ago today, Homer Simpson had an epic chili pepper-induced hallucination. “El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer” first aired January 5, 1997.

Most of the sequence was animated completely by David Silverman as he wanted it to look exactly as he had imagined it.

Overheard a cute conversation today where a dad explaining to his young son who Salvador Dali was as they were admiring a melting clock in the waiting room. Love hearing that sort of artistic curiosity, especially with young kids

The 70s. Termite Terrace is closed. Its residents either dead, retired, or moved on to other projects. But their creations, the Looney Tunes, lived on in some form or another to become inescapable cultural icons. This is the story of Bugs Bunny and pals and their legacy.

More Ed Love animation, with some of Ray Abrams' work interspersed: Abrams does the knife reacting to Junior's gun, and the following scene where the Wolf gets struck by a vase. Fun fact: Ed cranked out footage so quickly that he kept at least 3 or 4 assistants busy at MGM!

Now, the animation is split between Preston Blair (Junior leaves and slides down banister; CU of Wolf outside; Wolf as Santa down chimney, whole exchange with Junior) and Ray Abrams (Junior calls to Santa and Wolf appears; Wolf dons Santa disguise). Ed Love's work is at the end ("SUCKER!").
