There appear to be at least three separately operating heel factions breaking things within the government in wholly different ways right now. There's the Miller-headed immigration one, the DOGE/Elon one, and a Project 2025 OMB one. This dynamic hasn't showed up in mainstream reporting at all.

I’ll be honest, this week there was more to destroy the rule of law than in trumps first term,

And i have no idea what the Democrats are doing to fight back. Or even saying. Crickets

Can anyone explain to me what the function of the Democratic Party is today and how it is serving that function?

Are they still around? If so, is there any evidence of that?

Wrote about a Supreme Court case that could start a nationwide rollback on birth control rights. Braidwood v. Becerra is nominally about insurance coverage, but as we witnessed with abortion, making reproductive healthcare less accessible is a stepping stone to bans. My first in @democracydocket.com
The Supreme Court Could Gut Access to Birth Control This Year
Opinion | With Trump back in the Oval Office, access to contraception is, sadly, not something that people can bank on anymore.

Scientists are reporting that it would take just a single mutation in the version of bird flu that has swept through U.S. cattle herds to produce a virus adept at latching on to human cells, a much simpler step than previously imagined.
Single bird flu mutation could let it latch easily to human cells, study finds
The potential mutation would allow the avian influenza virus sweeping through cattle herds to attach to a receptor protein on the surface of our cells.

When he was president, Trump cut back this proposed expansion. During the 2024 campaign, his allies ran ads saying he supported overtime workers because he proposed tax cuts on overtime pay—and this meant he was pro-worker. No one paid much attention to this contradiction. I, though, wrote about it.
A Trump-appointed judge just struck down a Biden rule expanding overtime pay to 4 million working people.

It's really surprising how little media coverage this has received. Trump faced no real questions about this issue during the campaign. 1/

Vivek Ramaswamy suggested “If your Social Security number ends in an odd number you’re out. If it ends in an even number you’re in. There’s a 50 percent cut right there. Of those who remain if your SS number starts in an even number you’re in, and if it starts with an odd number you’re out. 75% cut.
