This shit is why @captainkaye42.bsky.social, @crazylemur.bsky.social, and I made an entire podcast condemning the animation fandom that's terminally online. Sure, it might seem harmless, but what's the point? People in the fandom like this make my blood boil to no end, and I'm frankly sick of it.

I saw the list of animated films submitted for the Oscars, and Nezha 2, one of, if not the most important animated films next to KPop Demon Hunters of 2025, is nowhere on the list. This might go down in history as the biggest fuck ups of release, acquisition, re-release, and awards of all time.

#NowWatching The Sting.

First Time Watch. Really loved Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and I wanted to see the second film starring the duo. RIP Redford. #filmsky #movies #RobertRedford

While it's a little clunky in some areas, I really loved it.

Really wish for those who cry about a lack of original movies, went out and actually saw these movies. I bet this will be a cult or fan favorite from this year. A hidden gem per say.

I missed this one in theaters, and I really wanted to see it.

I will never quite forgive folks for letting this film bomb. It was awesome as hell, and yet no one went to see it.

Even as someone who writes about and talks about animation as his critic gig, I can't possibly find the amount of time, energy, and forks to give to be mad at a mediocre tie-in song for the upcoming SpongeBob movie. I have too much going on to be mad at a bad Ice Spice song.

this film is going to be like 90% CGI... so don't forget that these "live action" adaptations are still animated movies, they're really just there to exploit non-unionized VFX animator labour, because 3d character animators are unionized and can't be taken advantage of so easily
welp, "live action" how to train your dragon made a lot of money, I'm sure this one will too, it's basically the same thing just more textures and occasionally people up close are visibly real actors

this is not "haptic" :P

Remember if you are an animation YouTuber, talking head, or influencer that focuses on animation, if you complain about the lack of original animated films, hate the remakes, but still go see them, if you see Moana’s remake, you are gonna get clowned on as the tools you are.

Some anime fan got mad at me because I dared to say that anime critics should be more critical about the anime coming out due to how much is coming out. Anime fans could also afford to be pickier. You aren't watching all new 60+ shows every 3 months, don't act like ya do? We would be fine with less.

I wish more shows or films had this very noodly, vibrant flow-like style. I know that was a big part of Adventure Time, but I mean, in general, the vibe and flow of the animation.

I can see in my head how fluid these movements would be in motion. Also, this is a wonderful reference to posing.

It's fine if you don't like OBAA or Bugonia, but tense moments and dark comedy are a common mix with filmmakers. Whether you like the execution of said moments or not, that's up to you, but to act like this never happens is weird. Do people not know this now? Is media literacy THAT level of dead?

It's really absurd how bad the power creep in Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links is. What is the point of playing the game when all anyone wants to do is loser tactics of making one turn win tactics? Every "top-tier" player has the same five decks as well. It's truly not fun to play this game online.

The US side of theatrical animation has become underwhelming, with a tepid lineup of movies outside of KPop: Demon Hunters in 2025. The foreign animation scene, on the other hand, has kicked it into high gear with one of the best films of 2025 being 100 Meters.

The irony of Disney teaming up with a bunch of studios to sue the ever daylights out of AI companies for stealing their work, but Disney also coming around to wanting users to submit their bad AI-made Frozen fan fiction slop to their service, which they will also own. Make this industry make sense.
