This style of light doesn't really appear in animation anymore. You know it when you see it -- it's bright, hot and almost dangerous.

Our new issue explores the tricks behind it, and how one artist has revived the look for the digital age: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/dangerous-...

Yeah sorry folks who hated the MHA ending, I did not think it was that bad. I don’t agree with what folks have said about it at all outside of maybe some arcs could have been handled better or at least started earlier to end more satisfyingly.

Now that Glitch has basically confirmed that Knights of Guinevere is in production, can you animation fans who freaked out, got mad, or came up with incorrect and ineptly put together conspiracy theories, get banned from talking or partaking in animation again? Cuz you all look like morons.

This would've been such an amazing movie. I had the honor to peep it sometime last year and it was very moving and exciting. Sony passed on something great BUT I hear Matt has some other news to share soon so... Something else to look forward to!
Matt Braly has shared never-before-seen development artwork from his canceled feature film at Sony Pictures Animation.

The project centered on a young boy who embarks on an emotional journey into a fantastical realm of Thai spirits, hoping to find a cure for his illness.

You know, with how many times I have heard YouTubers complain about how it's no longer viable to make a living off of YouTube, weren't there attempts to gather folks who do this to go to YouTube itself, or congress or something about it? I feel like that's happened before, but nothing came from it.

I don't particularly want to watch a Netflix podcast hosted by Pete Davidson since he decided to use up all of his likability points by taking blood money for that comedy festival. Not even sorry about not being interested, ain't gonna watch it.

I hated this. Hands down one of my least favorite movies of last year and I will never forgive folks who went to see this but let Renal Family and The Testament of Ann Lee die horribly at the box office.

This might objectively be the worst batch of Super Bowl ads ever. Too many AI ads, a crypto grift, and noting all that memorable.

For LA Times I reviewed SCARLET, the new film by Japanese animation great Mamoru Hosoda. A movie that asks us to forgive our enemies, even when they show no remorse. That’s a big ask, but it gives the film major emotional stakes.

The more I hear Kevin O'Leary talk, the more it makes me regret ever seeing Marty Supreme. That dude needs to just bugger off and leave his coil. Also, it makes me hate the Sadfies more because of their antics and bullshit.

While I still think this movie is overstuffed with story and plot due to how much is in the main experience, I still highly recommend people check this movie out. It’s a really cool moment when china’s animation scene was about to have its biggest comeback in decades.
