I grew up in Wales, I remember that day, how we all sat glued to the TV, rescuers passing the bodies along, the waiting families, the unrelenting rain - hard to imagine a more desolate scene. And it needn't have happened. The Nation Coal Board had been warned repeatedly of the danger.
