If anyone would like to join the ride for @timcyclesthecoast.bsky.social, please get in touch. It's hard to believe this even happened, but it will be so nice to come together and remember Tim, to ride the way he rode, and raise a few quid for Mind. timcyclesthecoast.com

This seems the best place to ask: would anyone have use for @timcyclesthecoast.bsky.social’s panniers? He used a front & back set up and I’m sure he’d like to know they’ve gone to a good home and facilitated someone’s future adventures.

We’re not asking for money, just a donation to Mind.

We are going to do a ride in Tim’s @timcyclesthecoast.bsky.social’s memory: Land’s End to John o’ Groats. A ride he would have loved, finishing in his favourite country of all: Scotland. We would love people to join in and ride for a day or two. See timcyclesthecoast.com for details.

Today we said goodbye to Tim @timcyclesthecoast.bsky.social It was a beautiful service: moving, heartbreaking but also funny. Some of his friends wore his shirts. He would have approved of the spread (especially the whisky). We miss you big man, and can’t believe you’re gone. Rest in peace 🚲 x

We currently have days of persistent positive degrees in the depths of winter in the high Arctic (79°N). Shocking temperature anomalies are becoming the norm. Already exceptionally high rainfall this winter, and thick ice covers the tundra instead of the usual snow. Unprecedented and terrifying 🌡️

The memorial for Tim will be on 14th March at 2.30pm at Great Glen crematorium, Leicester, then afterwards at the Cow and Plough in Stoughton.

The service will also be live-streamed at watch2.obitus.com/login/ft5b89 (username: fifi9813, password: 890519).
Remembering @timcyclesthecoast.bsky.social

Many of you will have seen that Tim took his own life earlier this year. The outpouring of shock and sadness was overwhelming, and your comments were very touching – thank you.

In the next few months I’ll be reviewing a few thousand 35mm slides taken in the 80s. I’ll want to digitise a number of them.

Anyone recommend a slide scanner and/or a scanning service?

Arthur Priest, The Unsinkable Stoker, died today in 1937. He survived the sinkings of the Titanic, Asturias, Alcantara, Britannic & the Donegal.
He ended up ashore in Southampton as he claimed "no one wished to sail with him after these disasters."
There, he died of pneumonia.

In case like me, you feel it should be Friday, here's a macro photo of a buff-tailed bumblebee, bejewelled with specs of pollen shining like diamonds in the sun .. the intricate patterns of its wings appear like stained glass as they gleam in the sunshine
