For no reason at all - no reason - really no reason - may I suggest taking a break, reading this story, and then heaping the author and editor with heaps and heaps of praise?

Beneath Ceaseless Skies - The Crow’s Second Tale by Marissa Lingen
So Kiris knew, even at the age of five: no one should only know one story. Not even a crow, like in the song. And if she was the only one who had spotted the problem, she felt down to her five-year-ol...

The executive dysfunction's been really bad lately. Anybody got clever fixes? What works for you when this kicks in? I've tried timers, and lists, and... everything works for a little while and then Brian* is an asshole again.

Pork-apple-sage meatball soup with zucchini and potatoes.

Made a rookie mistake - the potatoes were meant to be mashed, so they're cooked in cream but in a soup the cream separated. And the meatballs are a *tiny* bit too done. Oh well. Tastes good!

I've been reading Corey's first Expanse book from the library, and I should probably just return it for the line of people waiting.

Not because I don't want to finish it, but because I've concluded I'm going to be buying the whole series in paper anyway.

The damage to the Appalachian economy by the impending Hemp Ban will put jobs at risk and cripple efforts to build a brighter future for our people.

Give it a read, leave a tip (we're still 100 dollars away from our goal), and keep resisting.

I love my local market; not only are there still foods I haven't tried, if I spot someone picking out one of them, they're usually hugely enthusiastic to explain What, How, and Why.

Today: Breadfruit! Which tastes like neither bread nor fruit when lightly fried, but is indeed good.

While they are adorable and I'm always delighted to encounter them, I wish house geckos would stop attempting to colonize my house. I have two apex predators who think they are the best toys ever.

Found this little guy in the middle of my kitchen, luckily before either cat.
