Pork-apple-sage meatball soup with zucchini and potatoes.

Made a rookie mistake - the potatoes were meant to be mashed, so they're cooked in cream but in a soup the cream separated. And the meatballs are a *tiny* bit too done. Oh well. Tastes good!

I love my local market; not only are there still foods I haven't tried, if I spot someone picking out one of them, they're usually hugely enthusiastic to explain What, How, and Why.

Today: Breadfruit! Which tastes like neither bread nor fruit when lightly fried, but is indeed good.

Man, I wish I had space for a cabber. I spent some time working with a friend's, that was a good time. Someday I need to put the final polish on some of these.

The main character in the Book I Will Finish Someday Dangit is (sometimes) a shapeshifter. They turn into something vaguely wolfy, and painted wolf is as close as real life critters get. So: Mascot!

While they are adorable and I'm always delighted to encounter them, I wish house geckos would stop attempting to colonize my house. I have two apex predators who think they are the best toys ever.

Found this little guy in the middle of my kitchen, luckily before either cat.
Minuscule Mediterranean house gecko, perhaps an inch and a half long, captured in a clear container through which the vastly larger hand beneath it is clearly visible. Teeny-tiny house gecko cleaning its eyeball with its tongue.

I need to replace this clamp widget (the lamp is still fine), but would prefer to replace it with a heavy base like the other one here. Lowe's, maybe?
The two share a post size, conveniently. I didn't like the desk-edge-clamp approach much, and now that clamp is good and broked. It's been hanging on for months and I've tried not to touch it much. This more or less lookalike has a very heavy base, solid, with a lock bolt to keep the lamp peg in.

Quartered and cored apples in the bottom of a shiny Instapot, dusted with spices and salt, drizzled with a couple tablespoons honey. Sad apple skins after cooking. No point cutting them fine if you have a stick blender. I love my stick blender. Pureed applesauce in a matte black porcelain bowl, bottles of Rose Water and Pure Vanilla behind it. Nam Dae Mun had this bottle of rosewater for a couple bucks.
