I was honored to MC a Joe Ely in-store at @cactusmusic.bsky.social about twenty-five years ago. There are so many great songs I could post in tribute but I’ll limit myself to an old 101 Rock Place fave. Go easy, Joe.

See your faves perform, tell your loved ones you love them because damn, tomorrow is not promised. Rest In Peace to all our recently departed. I lost my father to this disease in 2022, and it just left him a shadow of his former self.

Shocked by the awful death of Rob Reiner. I spoke with him for over an hour last night. We talked about his work and his plans for the future. I always enjoyed his company. We met at his Dad's in 1975. Last thing he said to me was "See you next year.." Such a terrible end. Such a sweet man.

My first Reiner film was The Sure Thing. It was an HBO staple, and I saw it countless times. I was amazed it was directed by “Meathead” from All in the Family. In the days before IMDB, you just knew creatives from their previous roles. Who knew Meathead would make so much good stuff? What a loss.

I do work in the DV space and know that shelters are really struggling after a year of funding cuts, so I decided today to do a little donation drive for the Houston Area Women's Center.

I have a box on my porch. I'm putting my address on main. If you're in the area, feel free to drop off stuff.
