The single most important thing to understand about what Benjamin Netanyahu says is that when he speaks in english, he is speaking to Americans.

Judging something by the wrong context might make it seem maladaptive and useless, e.g. #religion in that it doesnt say true things. But it gives community, which is highly beneficial and truth about the universe and life is irrelevant to most people.

"This doesnt harm anyone else, so why not let them" often can have as a unstated major premise that there is no cost to anyone else. Alternate medicine for example transfer wealth to fraudsters and charlatans, and converts hope into despair.

Every job and activity has skill in it. But unskilled labor is a term of art (meaning it has a specific technical meaning). If someone can do the job with minimal training, and perform at 75%, it makes you easily replaced which means the pay is bad. Id rather we change reality, than change language.
*taps the sign* “Unskilled labor” is a misleading term that’s an excuse to dehumanize & justify underpaying low-wage workers

ALL labor is skilled labor

Workers are paid for the labor provided, not the credentials needed to do the job. Without their labor, services people depend on couldn’t exist

Saying Europe is west Asia has Africa is a country energy.
My hot take is that Europe shouldn’t be considered a continent. It’s technically west Asia

It is interesting how actresses now have to dress up in costumes with tennis balls on their heels to try and get people to go to the movies. It was more fun when everyone saw the same movies and series (and news), and we had boybands and superstars roaming the earth.

In the US every election except when the candidate was a woman; the one that spent the most money won. The first woman president that gets there by being elected will be a conservative.

The replies on this post indicates that the "welcoming atmosphere" here is temporary. Sad to see.
Hello everyone!

It seems there is a lot going on here these days, so I decided to come and see it for myself.

From today on, follow my activities here too!

Thats why we need to zoom out, stop focusing on the "weather" and start looking at the "climate". Things wont get better until the climate gets better.
The truth is, none of us really know what the next four years will look like. It’s incredibly difficult to predict what happens next. It does not feel good.

Leadership is about defining the circle of trust; who is within and gets to feel safe and those who are outside and dont. The circle can be small, or encompass the world. You dont have to be in a formal leadership role to be a leader. If you include those around you in your circle, you are a leader.
Pro tip to those in leadership: If someone comes asking for you to do more to protect/help themselves, their kids, vulnerable or marginalized residents, don’t tell them what you’ve already done, just listen to what they’re asking for.

Its the Dead Sea effect, the water evaporates but the salt keeps accumulating. It happens across places, like for example why new self help communities keep popping up, since they have a expiration date. Since the people who it works for cycles out.

Twitter/x might be death spiraling now. 🤞
The peace on Bluesky has made Twitter seem WORSE.

The insight about talent, luck and hard word is that it only matters in the limit. "Its all luck" is a great excuse for not doing anything. Motivation is the key, and its not a trait, its a thing you look back on and found you had all along.

Just start (doing the thing, but no for realzies.)

The only thing you need to ask yourself when playing a video game is:

“Am I having fun?”

If the answer is yes, then congratulations, you’re gaming ‘correctly’😌

The thing is that in the before times, we had social norms so that people would shut up about random hatefulness since violating social norms would be a bad thing, since it would showcase you as a bad person. There is now a alternate reality where that is cheered on. How we mend that i dont know.

One of the most weird and frustrating things is the comparison of when the left criticizes elected leaders to parliament or the potus for what they say, and then the right criticizes the left for what a random girl on thumbler said in a moment on heartache as if the two are equivalent. Its wild!

Just reminded of someone saying: "Asians are exotic", and the response to that is; "statistically there are more of us than there are of you, so you are the exotic one".

I like that :)

One thing i often see men complain about is that they tried sharing their emotions but get punished for it. But i think the thing is if someone just dumped a host of random unprocessed emotions on you, you arent going to think more highly of them either. How you do something matters aswell.

The thing that has a unreasonable amount of effectiveness in my life. Is taking #Notes and #NoteTaking. It really is true that the faintest ink is more powerful than the best memory. And eventually your vault starts producing insights on its own. This graph is my vault taken using Obsidian.md.
