This is only page 3 and I'm so invested in learning more from this author. Luddite as an insult certainly gets thrown around a lot these days, and I'm happy to have their concise clarification on what side of history that movement was on at the very start of the book.

People with established careers in humanitarian and public service circles— people who have already lived long lives in the service of their communities—should be actively sought out alongside passionate young people who see the benefit of making their country more liveable over the long run.

Older candidates have credibility and, in the best cases, extraordinary likability.

See the AOC / Bernie rallies a few months ago as a blueprint. Big tent is not about making room for racists or fascists—it’s about providing candidates with wide appeal margins who will not compromise their values.
