One of the unexpected benefits of using a VPN is that the adverts on certain sites are now mostly not in English and don’t distract me so much any more

I understand a little French, Spanish, German, etc. so I can get the gist if I want to but my eyes skip over the ads so much more easily

Very good explanation of our grid in Australia, why renewables force prices low or even negative most days, why we don’t need huge “base load” generation and why nuclear won’t fit. #auspol. www.abc.net.au/news/2025-04...
What might our future power grid look like? This illustrated guide explains

I know we’ve had civil partnerships and marriage for a while but it’s not really that long and it still gives me a warm feeling when I see wedding rings in pics

Having a bit of a follow here (and unfollowing in the other place) - hopefully this won't spam your timelines too much

Express poll needs more input.

Link takes you directly to the poll, bypassing the Express website, so you won't boost their ad impressions.

(Note: ignore the bit where they ask for your email address. It's optional.)

One of the benefits is starting up over here and so many new people joining us is seeing a lot of interesting accounts to follow that simply never crossed my path on Twitter

How are ppl managing the people they follow as they transition to following them here on Bluesky - are ppl following on Bluesky and then unfollowing on Twitter? Or something else? Looking for suggestions. Thanks!

Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #979,228!

Phew - not an early adopter by any means but just inside the first million

In the ‘other place’ my account is overwhelmed by the number of ads for gambling, crypto and drop-shippers. There are still occasionally some good/interesting posts. But declining as those posters cease. For me, it’s reaching the “trust thermocline” (see @garius.bsky.social eloquent discussion)

The girlie bots keep popping up and following me here - been on quite a series of blockings tonight - it’s tiresome

Looking for suggestions: I’ve used Sky Follower Bridge - is there any other that would be good to use to try to find Twitter folks that are here on Bluesky? I think I’ve got a good pct but I would hate to have missed anyone because of my failure to use the software properly
