Thought I’d give Bluesky a go. It’s good to be here.
I’m a housing professional who has experience in the education and charity sectors. We have a massive housing crisis to solve; a crisis made by political choices and one that can be solved by making different ones. Let’s get to work!

This is a lie.

There are many criticisms you might sensibly and truthfully make of the Sentencing Council and the Sentencing Guidelines. I’ve been making them for years.

But this is an outright lie. Pure fabrication. A fraud on the public.

Your Prime Day reminder that half of Amazon warehouse workers struggle with food & housing costs.

A third have had to rely on government assistance like SNAP — which is about to get cut.

If Bezos can spend $50M on a wedding, Amazon can afford to treat its workers with dignity.

Simply making Amazon pay their tax in the UK would be enough to pay for lifting the 2 Child Benefit Cap.

Amazon have a Revenue of £27bn in the UK but usually pay NO tax at all.

The welfare revolt does *not* prove that Labour MPs are "constitutionally incapable of making hard choices".

It proves that they will not just wave through hugely damaging changes, that harm those most in need, on which they've not been consulted.

That's MPs *doing* their jobs, not abdicating them

Just watched the John and Amy Hunt interview with @vicderbyshire.bsky.social. I’m struck by their love, quiet dignity and strength in the face of unimaginable horror.
Amy is right when she talks of the epidemic of social media fuelled misogyny that is putting women and girls in danger.

Annual trip for my sis and me to see the Colonel’s Review - one of my favourite days of the year. The skill and musicianship of the bands is outstanding.

Love this.
"Why are you wearing so much protection on your lips?" I asked cautiously.
"Later, it's going to be thundery and I suspect there'll be some lightning too." Mam replied.
"I still don't understand." I added.
"It's the balm before the storm." Mam quipped.

Today is an object lesson in the radicalisation of the British right-wing press. Britain is being disparaged and insulted by a foreign far-right conspiracy theorist. But the Mail, the Express, the Telegraph and even the Times choose focus their criticisism on the British prime minister instead.
