At the @royalderngate.bsky.social this evening for an Elkie Brooks gig. She’s 80 next week. What a voice. Such power and control. Haunting version of ‘To make you feel my love’ and a proper heavy metal version of Knights in White Satin’ Excellent.

They played big band jazz arrangements of TV theme tunes. Outstanding and insanely talented musicians - brilliantly played. Utterly bonkers.

Who knew there was a tiny jazz club at the top of the Toulouse Lautrec in Newington Butts. Looking forward to an afternoon of great jazz in a unique setting with the Sam Every Big Band
